About Laure Scarfato:

A classical Pilates instructor.

portriat Laure

Transitioning into teaching group exercices classes, the encouragement of class members directed me towards Pilates, especially considering its limited availability in Charlotte at that time. I attended a Classical Mat Certification led by Colleen Glenn and was instantly captivated.

Continuing my journey, I pursued a 600-hours classical training with a comprehensive Peak Pilates Certification led by Clare Dillon Palma. This certification equipped me with extensive knowledge of the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Systems, utilizing various apparatus such as the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, Ped-O-Pull, Foot Corrector, Sandbag, and Magic Circle.

My experience spans working with deconditioned and injured clients, professional athletes, and assisting in the rehabilitation of various injuries and surgeries. Additionally, I have worked with pre and postnatal clients, cancer survivors, stroke victims, individuals with MS, Fibromyalgia, spinal fusion, Osteopenia, Osteoporosis, and pelvic issues as well as scoliosis.

Continual learning is a priority and I have attended workshops and extensive practice with Colleen Glenn, Clare Dillon Palma, Sonje Mayo, Clare Dunphy, Blossom Lenai Crawford, Kathy Ross Nash as well as other classically trained master trainers. I have also taken workshops in the Schroth method for scoliosis as well as Franklin Method, Egoscue and Mackensie Method as I believe they can enhance the classical Pilates system.

Beyond Pilates, my cherished moments involve spending time with my family – my husband Tom and our three children, Alyssa, Zan, and Gigi – along with our two dogs, Beau and Minnie Lu.
